Ever since Bhagavan’s physical body had illnesses, a systemized Program of Chanting Gayathree Mantra and Akanda Bhajans were organized. This not only took effect in Colombo but in the rest of the Country as well. Almost all Sai Centres in the Country gradually commenced singing Bhajans for long hours most of the days.

A Sathsang was organized during Bhagavan’s physical condition was critical. This was attended by a large number of Devotees, in Colombo.

Ganesha Chathurthi was celebrated for the first time by the Sai Organisation, this year.  The celebration commenced on Thursday 1st September, with the Lord Ganesh Statue being brought in a procession inside Sai Organisation, Colombo Samithy, and was installed in the Bhajan Hall. This was followed by Poojas and Bhajans in the Morning, Afternoon and Evening for 10 consecutive days. The 11th day on Sunday 11th September morning, the Statue was taken to join a procession of Sai Bhajan singing at Hindhu Ladies College Wellawatte. The statue was taken in the procession , and was taken to the Sea in Wellawatte and immersed, as per traditions with the chant of Vedas and Arathy.

Avatarhood day was celebrated  this year on 20th October. Newspaper articles were published and Narayana Seva was conducted, to mark this auspicious day.

As part of Bhagavan’s 86th Year of advent celebration, a Panel Discussion titled “ Vision & Mission of Bhagavan Baba” was designed and presented. This discussion disseminated vital facts to the Sai Devotees and the others to learn and emulate Bhagavan’s teaching on the practice of Sanathana Dharma and Spiritual Transformation.

Sathsangs in Sinhala & Thamil are conducted periodically for the benefit of the Devotees by the Chairman / Deputy Chairman Central Council.
